It might have been Donald Trump’s day on paper, but Inauguration Day 2025 also marked the day Barron Trump become America’s - or maybe the world’s - most eligible bachelor.

The 18-year-old university student, who is the height of a basketball player and resembles actor Nicholas Braun, has stepped into the spotlight.

And now, politics aside, Gen Z has a new “it” boy.

Mr Trump took time out of his busy schedule of being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States to do what everyone’s Nan normally does: brag about his son’s height.

“I have a very tall son named Barron. Has anyone ever heard of him?” the newly sworn-in President said to the crowd.

Mr Trump then credited Barron with telling him to go on The Joe Rogan Podcast, which arguably would be any 18-year-old boy’s advice, but the father of five was palpably proud of his youngest child.

Barron, who was looking dapper in a suit made the classic 18-year-old decision to be heavy-handed with the hair gel for the big day.

He also ditched being a shy background character and launched into his new role as Mr Confident. Isn’t everyone always saying confidence one of the most attractive qualities? Well, that and being the son of one of the most influential men in the world.

Barron, who was clearly feeling himself, got quite excited. At one point, he even copied his dad’s iconic fist pump, and everyone cheered.

The crowd loved that so much that someone on X said the cheering was “deafening”, proving Barron is officially having a moment.

The teenager was always going to garner some attention on his father’s big day. Being almost seven feet tall, it’s almost expected at any major event pictures of Barron will go viral because of his height. Some claimed he “stole the spotlight” because he towered over the other notable guests, but it was clear from the reaction to his cameo in the inauguration ceremony there was something else at play.

This is Barron’s first time being in the spotlight as an adult. He is about to become the most wanted man in America and not for crime but for marriage.

When Mr Trump was running for president, things were dicey.

It was political, and people were picking sides, but now, whether you like it or not, Mr Trump is in the White House, and being the President’s son will surely come with advantages for Barron.

Let’s be honest: It certainly beats “I like fishing and don’t do drama” as a Tinder bio.

Online, there was plenty of chatter of people claiming Barron looked fabulous.

“Barron Trump is an extremely good looking young man,” one said.

Someone else said “holy sh*t” and then raved about how “handsome” he looked, while another was more direct, simply writing: “Barron is so hot.”

Meanwhile someone else said he must have a great future ahead of him because he looks both “handsome and serious”.

Barron’s moment comes after a source told People that he was quite the hit with the ladies while attending New York University.

The source said that he was “really popular with the ladies” and even described him as a “ladies man”.

“He’s tall and handsome. A lot of people seem to think he’s pretty attractive. Yes, even liberal people like him,” the insider claimed.

So yes today was all about Mr Trump and all his grand plans, and political plots, but you can’t deny it’s also been Barron’s big eligible bachelor moment.

You can judge this reality all you want, but we all know that if Barron was the star of The Bachelor this season, we’d all be tuning in.
