On Tuesday tennis great Goran Ivanisevic announced the partnership between the pair was also coming to an end.
Ivanisevic took to Instagram to confirm the pair had elected to go their separate ways following her Australian Open exit.
“After our trial period that finished with (the) Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team (the) best of luck moving forward,” he wrote.
The drama comes after Rybakina courted controversy ahead of the tournament when she wanted to bring former coach Stefano Vukov back into her team for the first grand slam of the year.
The Croat, who helped Rybakina win Wimbledon in 2022, is under a provisional WTA suspension having been accused of using harsh and abusive behaviour towards players.
The ban however meant Vukov was not allowed to step foot inside Melbourne Park, it was then that Ivanisevic took his place.
Rybakina admitted the ordeal had taken a toll on her and affected her throughout the Australian Open.
“Definitely - as I said before, this is not the position I want to be or someone wants to be in,” Rybakina said during her post-match press conference on Monday.
“Of course, I want to have who I want in the box, but I couldn’t change it.
“At the end of the day, I just tried to focus on my matches, and I spoke with him. I also have Goran, so it didn’t affect the way I played today or the result.”
Investigations into Vukov’s conduct remain ongoing which means the time frame on his suspension remains unknown.
While he has continually denied any wrongdoing and Rybakina said Vukov had never mistreated her, the swirling drama could linger on throughout the 2025 season.
